The owners of this house on the beach front of Malibu, California, called George Ricciardi of Sun-Tech because they were having a problem with intense glare. The residence has large picture windows overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
There are no drapes or blinds because the owners wished to enjoy the fabulous view over the Pacific Ocean.
The owners complained that from 10.00 am onwards, the glare through the windows, made the ocean practically invisible. As the day progressed, heat also became a problem and carpets and furniture were fading as a result of sun
damage.
Sun-Tech tinted the windows with solar control window film which rejects almost 100% of damaging Ultra-Violet (the primary cause of fabric fading). Window film also rejects 57% of total Solar Energy, so making house interiors cooler and saves on a/c
bills.
How about the view from the windows? Untreated glass, allows 89% of Visible Light to pass through.
With window tinting only 38% of Visible Light passes through which effectively reduces the glare. You can see the results clearly from these photographs.
